Ashwagandha

Nutracalm chews contain ashwagandha which helps regulate the production of stress hormones, such as cortisol, and supports the balance of neurotransmitters in the brain, including serotonin and gamma-aminobutyric acid (GABA). This helps to regulate their blood sugar, reduce their anxiety, and boost their immune system. We use a special form of ashwagandha that is a traditional extract taken only from the root. This more concentrated form can help alleviate separation anxiety, fear of loud noises and other stress related behaviours.

Passiflora incarnata

Commonly known as passion flower this extract has long been known for its ability to relax and reduce tension. Biochemical studies show that natural flavonoids are a key active ingredient and that Passiflora aids the effectiveness of GABA brain receptors which aids relaxation.

L-Tryptophan

L-Tryptophan is a natural amino acid found in many proteins which is involved in the production of the neurotransmitter hormone serotonin and has been shown to help reduce aggression and stress.

Taurine

Our vegan taurine is an amino acid involved in the function of neurotransmitters. It supports the stress-relieving neurotransmitters; serotonin, dopamine and noradrenalin which in anxious or stressed pets leads to a calming response.
